How to calculate / choose the correct balance (if you cannot read or find number on coil)
1. Weigh the window sash (The window sash is the part of the sliding window that moves up and down, it includes the frame and glass).
2. Purchase 2 of the assembly that is correctly sized to support the weight of your sash.
Example: if you have a 24lb window sash, you need 2 of the 6D/6DL assemblies.
*Note: each number corresponds to pounds it can support; so a 6D/7EL assembly features one coil that supports 6 lbs and one coil that supports 7 lbs. With one assembly on each side of the window, those assemblies can support a window up to 26 lbs because 6 + 7=13, and then 1 on each side = 26.
