Atrium mortise lock, body only in polished chrome.

The replacement lock has a thicker bolt. If door is hard to lock or unlock check strike plate for proper alignment.

Installation:
Drill mortise lock when door is locked shut. The drilling of tension spring retainer will release bolt tension and the dead bolt latch should move freely. Determine which side of mortise lock gives access to drill location. The side of bolt with the dimples is the drill side.

1. Pencil mark edge of escutcheon plate before removing to ensure you don't drill into exposed area of door stile. 
1a. Remove handles and the 3 sets of screws connecting the inside to outside plates.
1b. The outside plate and screws can be removed, the inside plate will spin around the thumb turn.
2. Measure from center screw hole - 1/4 inch up from center & 1/2 inch over.
3. Use 3/16 or 1/4 Titanium Metal Drill bit - Larger size will extend beyond the plate.
4. Drill at angle to avoid getting to close to edge of plate.
5. When you here the spring snap, you are done.
6. Use screw driver or flat ridge putty knife to push latch.
7. Install new mortise lock body and reassemble trim.
8. The lock case is held together with screws and 1 rivet. Do not try and take apart.
